I grew up in another language.
I think in Polish and English simultaneously — which means I am always slightly aware of the gap between the word I have and the thing it could mean.
That gap turned out to be the work.
I came to design from sociology, and from poetry.
Not as supplementary skills. As the method.
Sociology finds what is operating in a situation beneath what is visible.
Poetry finds the image that makes it available to be felt.
Design makes it concrete enough to build toward.
Twenty years of asking, of connected systems and the situations they inhabit: what is already here that the current design has not found?
